Thanh Lan was born in Vietnam

High School:         Lycee Marie Curie, Private French School in Saigon
College:                Faculty of Arts, University of Saigon
Majored:               English and American literature and civilization

Nine years old:       Learned Piano
Twelve years old:   Sang solo on Saigon Radio
Eighteen:               Sang solo on Saigon Television
Eighteen:               Read the news half an hour every morning, for a year, in French,
                              on Tự Do (Liberty) radio station in Saigon
Nineteen:               First acting role, starring in a play on Saigon television
Twenty two:           First starring in a motion picture Tiếng Hát Học Trò (the singing student)

Thanh Lan had recorded more than 500 songs in Vietnamese, French, English, Italian, including two songs recorded in Japanese for Victor company in Tokyo “Aino Hio Kesanaide” and “Yume Miru” in 1973.

Starred in more than 15 movies, including “Good Bye Saigon” (This Film was number 10 blues). Thanh Lan was co-starring with actor Yusuke Kawazu, director: Orio Osada. "Good Bye Saigon is a Japanese production shot in Saigon and Hue in March 1975 just before the fall of Saigon.

Thanh Lan starred in more than 20 plays, live on television and on stage in Vietnam from 1970 to 1974, including the role of Stella from “A Streetcar Named Desire”  performed at the Vietnamese-American Association in Saigon in 1973, and live on stage in the USA since 1995 including two Chinese master pieces “Thunder And Storm” by Tao Yu, and “The Red Lantern” Vietnamese versions.

1993  Came to United States as the movie star to attend the premiere of the movie Tình Người
          “Humanity” in Orange County, California.
          A film by Le Tuan, shot in Vietnam and California.
1995  She was granted political asylum.
1995  Sang at Harvard University as a guest of French Music celebration.
1999  Directed the Music video “In the Sun and in the Breeze”, a two hours production, with locations
          in Australia, Thailand, Canada and in many States of the USA.
2002  Pulished a collection of 76 poems written in Vietnamese, French and English.
2004-2006 Wrote her autobiography in English.
2005  Performed a two hours recital for BBC, England, at the Majestic, Huntington Beach, Orange           County,  Southern California.
2005  Performed a two hours recital at Huntington Library, Huntington Beach, Orange County,
          Southern California.
2006  Gave a one hour speech at UCI for Vietnamese class foreign students.
2006  Starred as a Lead Nurse for Health Department of Sacramento production, this production was           direct by director Farhad Mann.
2007  Starred in The Haunted Castle film, setting in France, director: Thái Trí Hàn.
2008  Performed a two hours recital for SBTN television in Garden Grove, Orange County,
          Southern California.

Since 1995 until now, she is touring around the USA, Europe, Australia and Canada, singing and writing songs, doing a lot of charity concerts to support veterans, handicapped children, refugees and victims of 9-11, Katrina, Tsunami,.etc…
